Hi! I’m Fran. I have been around animals all my life but working shift work has meant I have not been able to own an animal for a while. This sounds like a way I can get my animal smooches in and also help an owner out at the same time! i have always thought a service where a dog comes to you is a really good business idea and it wasn’t until I was hanging out with my friend who was looking after a dog did I know this type of business even existed! Having heard her success story about how she is now really close with the dogs owners now I thought what have I got to lose!

A few years ago I adopted an elderly cat to give her a second chance. I adored her and she adored me. Unfortunately she passed away at the beginning of 2018 and I was so heart broken as any pet owner is when something like that happens. I have made the decision to not get another cat or dog until I am no longer travelling and away from home which is another reason I really like this idea.

A little about me... I am working full time, late 20’s and live with 3 others in a big house. The house has a small to medium grass area out the back. It is partially fenced and set back away from the road. The garage and living area is on the bottom floor which is where your dog would be staying. I do have a cat flap from the internal garage door to outside that a small dog would be able to fit through. We do not have any other pets.

I have a number of consecutive days off normally 3-4 at a time and this would be when I would have the most time to offer. After days off I then work 7 days that range from 8-9 hours shifts. I often potter around the house on my days off or go for walks and meet up with friends for food and drinks. I am not able to have a dog stay with me for any longer than 3-4 days unfortunately.

I live quite close to the beautiful Cornwall park and also a dog park in Mt Eden. I am happy to be flexible as I appreciate every dog has their own needs and it’s important to assess these case by case.
