Hello!

My name is Amy, I’m an animal lover in my late 30s with lots of house/pet sitting experience, who jumps at any opportunity to make a new furry friend.

I am the go-to house and pet sitter for my family, friends and friends of friends! Dogs are my biggest love (I'm always happiest when I have the company of a dog – if you look up the video of Ricky Gervais talking about how great dogs are, that pretty much sums up my feelings perfectly), but I have experience looking after cats, rabbits, sheep, cows & chickens too! I am also confident with horses, having worked on and off with them since I was a teenager.

Previous house/pet sitting:

I have been housesitting since I was a teenager, starting with caring for a family friend's cows, dogs, cats and chickens whenever they went away, sometimes my horse Rasmei would join me out at their lifestyle block too. Since then, I have looked after more homes and pets than I can count – ranging from one low maintenance cat or dog for a couple of days, to caring for multiple properties at once for weeks at a time. This includes two regular rural properties - where I care for two horses, one pony, lambs, ewes, about chickens, two cows, three dogs, a cat and a guinea pig!

Availabiltiy:

I am an event manager in my day to day life, currently working for SPCA. My job gives me good flexibility to work from home and keep your pets company. 

A typical day:

When I am with your pet, a typical day has lots of cuddles, play, mental exercise/stimulation, walks and lots of love! I also cannot resist taking pictures, so you will certainly see lots of proof of a happy pet too! (although, I’m a little scared of the camera myself, which is why my photos here are lacking in number!) 

I am always more than happy to keep up with any training you are working on, take them to their favourite spots and keep their routine as close to normal as possible.

Experience:

Caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages – including young puppies

Grooming, rugging, and light exercise for horses

Mixing feed and feeding out to farm animals

Bathing dogs and horses

Giving some medications, eg. worming tablets, worming paste, applying ointments, creams and eye drops, insulin injections. 

You can also trust me to keep your plants alive, let in your cleaners, collect your mail and any other day to day household things that need looking after.

I am a respectful, house-proud & trustworthy person who prefers to do my socialising away from the house and keep home as a place to rest, so you can be confident that you are leaving your home in caring hands and your pets with safe, loving company.
