Naomi

Hi!

We are Naomi and Hugh, a couple in our mid twenties, and we LOVE animals. We want to take the stress out of your time off by spoiling your pets while you're away! We're dedicated pet and house sitters, both with work-from-home jobs, which means we'll bring along our laptops and be able to stay in with your pets through the work day, as well as mornings, evenings, and nights, most anywhere in Auckland. Pets are at their most comfortable in their own home and routine, and whether that means one-on-one care of young puppies, daily brushing for long coated cats, a complex medicine schedule, or anything in between, we're excited to recreate that for your pets and your peace of mind. We're both very experienced with (and adore!) all kinds of animals, and you can rest assured knowing your dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish, or even reptiles are well taken care of by trained hands. On top of excellent pet care, we'll also take great 24/7 care of your house; everything from bringing in mail, watering plants, and taking out the bins, to taking care of your property if bad weather hits, or starting up your car to preserve your battery while you're away! We are both non-smoking, criminal history checked, and extremely flexible; we'll do anything to make sure your best friends are in the safest of hands.

A little bit about Naomi: I'm a 24 year old graduate with a long history in animals. I spent over two years as a professional dog walker and canine handler, taking packs of 8-12 city dogs out into the wilderness for off road adventures - so you can be sure I know how to look after pups of any age or size at home! Among years of volunteer work for the SPCA, Auckland Zoo, and Auckland Royal Bird Sanctuary, I've also owned and raised two beautiful dogs, housetrained rabbits, tame chickens, and numerous other small pets, as well as fostering young puppies, kittens, and adult pets until they find their forever homes. The rest of my time, I'm a professional typist and magazine editor, and also love to read, make things, and explore.

A little bit about Hugh: I'm a biological sciences student at the University of Auckland, and am passionate about animals, nature and ecology. With extensive experience caring for and working with animals - both raising my own pets and through volunteer positions like kennel work at the NZ Blind Institute - you don't have to worry whether your dogs, cats, rabbits or more are in safe and capable hands. I enjoy learning, music, and accompanying Naomi on wilderness dog walks!

A Day in the Life:

A normal house sit for us will include as a base service:

Pet care (including as required: feeding, daily walk, brushing, administering medication, poop scoop, and lots and lots of love)

Bringing in & signing for mail

Bins

Watering plants

Feeding fish

Weather safety (closing windows, covering pools, securing outdoor animals, etc)
