I am a dog lover from way back - my first dog came to me when I was 10 and I have had 7 altogether.

I am recently retired, and my husband and I walk our own dog daily and often pet-sit our friend's dogs.

Hence, we thought, why not share our time with other pooches when their own parents are away or busy.

Our own fur baby is Fern, a 12 year old Border Terrier, who is well versed in sharing her space with other canines.

She is very placid and tolerant.

We don't have other pets so our attention will not be divided.

I have trained all my own dogs so am quite familiar with keeping dogs under control and away from situations were they may be vulnerable.

We are blessed with being a few metres from the Lake Pupuke walkway which leads to Sylvan Park (one of our favourite walks).

We are 10 minutes from Milford Beach Reserve, and can also walk the Tiri Rd to Black Rock Promenade which is not affected by the beach restriction hours. Your dog will be walked a minimum of 30 minutes each day. Our section is small to medium in size, paved, with plenty of leafy under-tree garden for dogs to mooch around in.

It is fully fenced with easy indoor/outdoor access in a quiet location.

We would love to take any small to medium dogs, and are experienced in caring for ones who may be elderly or frail.

Your dog will sleep in the area you choose, be that our bedroom, hallway, or lounge - where ever you think they will be most comfortable.

My husband and I are both at home so there will be lots of attention and

I am happy to keep you up to date with your dogs activities during the day.

Our requirements for staying are that dogs must be:

• neutered
• over 1 year old
• house trained
• not aggressive
• small to medium in size
• vaccinated

We are happy to pick/drop off, medicate (if necessary) and comply with feeding requirements.
