My mum is a experienced fosterer for the SPCA and has been for years so I grew up around many animals of different temperments, health status and personalities. My name is Taila (pronouned Tyla). I am 29 and have completed my Animal Care certificate in July 2022. I learned so much within this course, and it really confirmed that I am going down the right path.

I have experience with pet-sitting, and grew up working on a dairy farm when I was younger and have informally house/pet sat for friends and family in the past. I have raised many cats, dogs, sheep and cows and have 4 adult cats, 1 senior dog and 2 senior blue-tongue lizards that I actively care for on a day to day basis.
My working background is varied with working in corporate settings/corporations, in small family-owned businesses and working overseas with managing and training a team of individuals. There was also working during the pandemic which had me learn how to work from home with all the added pressures and stressors that came with that and now I work full time for a charity organisation who help those in need. This all reminded me that life is too short not to do what you love, and what I love goes way back to my roots - animal work.
My preference would be to pet-sit at your home (due to the multitudes of animals in mine) and I am pretty flexible with availability, so lets have a chat and see what we can work out.

Hi, my love for our four legged friends started when I was very young when I got Mao and Ching, our Japanese spitzs when I was 8 years old. Unfortunately I lost them because of old age and didn't have anymore pets until I was already working. I got a Rottweiler named Skype and he grew up to be a very loving and playful big baby. I lost him to cancer. I am left with my fur nephew, Mustache, a loving dachsund/shitszu who is now in the Philippines with my parents. I miss him a lot and I only get to see him on video calls. I have a lot of hugs and love to give to our furry friends and I love walking and running around outdoors. They give me so much energy and pleasure just being around them. Seeing them happy and able to run around witht them and play with them gives me so much joy. I would be make sure that I would be very good with them and treat them as if they were my own. Looking forward to meeting and spend time with them. Would like to care of vaccinated dogs of any breed. My experience with taking care of them, playing with them and taking them to walk outside.

ABOUT ME: Kia ora! I'm Luna and I'm a postgraduate student at The University of Waikato. My husband and I are a child-free couple &amp; used to have two furbabies in the Philippines. Since Philippines in not in the approved list of NZ to transport pets from, we couldn't get them here YET because we need to save up for full pet migration agency service. Our babies are Aloy (female, local Filipino dog breed) and Kylo (a mixed breed Beagle and Bully; unfortunately, he died just last October 17, 2024 due to blood parasitism and it broke our hearts totally).
MOTIVATION: While saving up funds to get Aloy. here in NZ, I'm looking to channel my love for furbabies here and earn some extra income through dogsitting. I also wish to do this as part of honoring Kylo's life. It would be nice to help families take care of their furbabies while they are away of have some other tasks to attend to in a day. It would be a great pleasure for me.
NEIGHBORHOOD: I live in Hamilton East and have a good neighborhood and clean pathwalks for dog walks. It is accessible to nearby parks like Galloway Park, Steele Park, and all the way to Hayes Paddock and the river walk.
AVAILABILITY: I'm relatively free during the Summer break, and can be available late afternoons and evenings during the semester.

I have been living in Hamilton since I was 12. I grew up with pets all my life. I had fishes, rabbits, tortoises as pets growing up. I have a pet dog in my hometown. Unfortunately, when I moved to New Zealand, I had to leave her behind with my family. I miss her a lot. 
I work an office job where we have an office dog  (He definitely brightens our day at the office!). I am able to house sit for you if you are going away. I am also able to look after your pets during weekends, public holidays, after hours or any other time/day outside of my office job during weekdays. Please feel free to message me check in on what time/day would work best for me. Due to the sedentary lifestyle, it can get lonely and having a stagnant life. This lifestyle pushes me to find an outlet to reach out and be close to animals while helping you to take care of your fur babies while you are busy
I have personal experience with caring for animals and I love spending time with them. I understand the stress and anxiety any pet owners experience when leaving your fur babies at home. I'll treat your pets as if they're my own ♡ Experience with walking, feeding/watering dogs (my own and others), feeding and playing with cats, feeding turtles and loads of experience with horses (evented to 1* - can feed, water, hay, shift fences/ponies, muck out etc - can even hack out if needed). I'm free most evenings and weekends. I'm available to walk/run dogs, feed cats/dogs/horses/any other pets! I'm available for visits or house sitting and also happy to just hang out with your furry friends ♡ Please feel free to reach out with any questions :) I'm available in the afternoons/evenings Monday-Friday (typically 5pm onwards), overnights Fridays and Saturdays, and all day on weekends. Home visits I'm happy to hang out with your furry friends + play with them! Also happy to bring in mail and water plants etc. I'll treat your home like it's my own. I don't eat any meat so there would be no meat brought into your house on overnight stays (but I don't mind at all if you do eat meat and am happy to feed meat to your pets!) With walks I'm happy to walk or run, whatever suits your pup's energy level for 30 mins to an hour! If you have a specific route you'd prefer I'm happy to follow that otherwise I'll change it up and take your pup on a safe but fun walk :) I love all animals and can't wait to meet yours!!
