For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Takanini for a doggy day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Takanini Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer doggy day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Takanini sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Hi there! We are Sagar & Srushti.
Your friendly neighbourhood's Weekend Dog Guardians and Professional Belly Rubbers.
Are you looking for someone to keep your tail-wagger happy while you’re away? Stop scrolling. You’ve found the humans who will probably love your dog almost as much as you do (maybe even a tiny bit more, don't tell anyone ).
The "Why": Our Tragic Backstory (Sort of)
Here’s the truth: We are suffering from severe puppy withdrawal.
We have a sassy, beautiful 9-year-old Pomeranian lady back home in India who we miss terribly. Our house in NZ is lovely, but it’s way too quiet without the click-clack of paws.
So, we have a selfish motive: We want to spoil your dog to fill the dog-shaped hole in our hearts. We don’t just want to watch your dog; we need the serotonin boost!
Our "Dog whisperer" Credentials
• Senior Staff: We raised our Pom for 9 years, so we speak fluent "Grumpy Senior" and know how to handle delicate care.
• Local Heroes: Since moving to NZ, we’ve been the go-to sitters for friends and family (handling everything from lazy cats to chaotic canines).
• Weekends Only: Because we work during the week, our weekends are 100% dedicated to your pup. No distractions, just play.
The "Resort" (aka Our Home)
We live in a nature-nestled paradise that is basically Disneyland for dogs:
• Garden Galore: A lush spot right outside for zoomies and sunbathing.
• Mt Eden "Sniffaris": We are a literal 5-minute walk from Mt Eden. Expect your dog to go on epic adventures and come home happily exhausted.
• Vetted Vibes: Our landlady has a doggo on the other side of the property, so our home is already certified pet-friendly!
Why Booking Us is a No-Brainer
• We are Obsessed: Your dog won't be "managed"—they will be worshipped.
• Photo Overload: Prepare for a spam of cute updates. You’ll never wonder "Is my dog happy?" You’ll know.
• Playtime Pros: Whether it’s fetch, tug-of-war, or aggressive snuggling, we match your dog's energy.
• Trustworthy: We are a married couple looking to build genuine connections within our community.
Let’s Make It Happen!
If you want your dog to have a mini-vacation while you have yours, hit us up!

Warning: We might cry a little bit when we have to give them back. See you soon!

Kia Ora! I’m Belle — proud dog mum to a cheeky little guy named Benji, who has taught me more about unconditional love (and strategic snack negotiations) than I ever imagined. Being a pet parent myself, I know just how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your dog when you can’t be there.
I live with my partner Jordan, so it's just us with Benji.
I offer dog boarding service in my place, I can take just one dog at a time apart from Benji.
We have a fully fenced backyard so your dog will be safe and secure.
Guest dogs can sleep anywhere in the house, depending on their usual habit, we do have a dog bed available.
Note: I've taken care of dogs before in Singapore and on Waiheke so with me, your dog won’t just be looked after — they’ll be treated like part of my own little pack (Benji included!).

I am an experienced pet sitter with over 25 years of hands-on care for many different types of animals and temperaments both my own, friends and other peoples pets.
I grew up with many rescue cats a rescue dog and even a rescue cockatoo. Mostly my experience is with both cats and dogs, I bring compassion, patience, and a deep understanding of animal behaviour to every visit. Most recently, I cared for my severely injured cat recovering from a dog attack. This required round-the-clock attention, including administering antibiotics and pain medication, cleaning and dressing wounds, monitoring eating and hydration, and creating a calm stress-free environment for healing and emotional comfort.
I worked closely with our veterinarian to monitor progress and adjust care routines as needed. My experience also includes senior pets, those with special medical needs, and multi-pet households. I prioritise safety, trust, and communication, always treating your fur babies as if they were my own. Whether it’s a playful pup or a shy, anxious cat, I tailor my approach to each pet’s personality and needs. I’m reliable, trustworthy and detail-oriented, and committed to giving your furry companions the best possible care while you’re away.

Kia Ora! My name is Alicia! I have three years experience training dogs and now run obedience courses with my agility club. I love dogs, border collies have a special place in my heart. I own a red and white border collie called Charlie.
My property is fully fenced, located in Onehunga, has both a back yard and front yard, plenty of space for dogs to run around. I have an open space living area at the back of the house with a deck that is covered. The front yard is gated off from the drive way and the gates are electric so no chance of escapes!
I love looking after dogs and have had friends dogs to stay with me many times. I have dogs who stay with me sleep on their beds/or crate if they're crate trained, in my bedroom overnight.
A weekend for your furry friend spent with me would include many walks around Cornwall Park, Pah Homestead, Onehunga Bay and adventures to beaches and the waterfront! Adventures out of the house would be approx an hour or longer at least a couple of times a day, I would cater to your dog and their needs.
I will only be hosting dogs to stay Friday afternoon- Monday morning. As I work full time Monday-Fri 9-5.
Your dog would be well looked after and loved for their staycation ! I will send frequent pupdates (photos and videos!).
Your dog must be well socialised, friendly to other dogs and people, well behaved and fully vaccinated.
I will first do a meet and greet before accepting any new dogs.
Thanks,
Alicia!

Hi there
My name is Mal, and I'd love to watch over your fur baby while youre away. I've had animals all my life, my dog Koda who is sadly not with us anymore, my 2 cats, I fostered kittens for 9 lives orphanage for a few years as well. I remember it being a challenge to find somewhere for my dog so thought while I have the time and ability to that I could fill that gap for someone else. I've missed my dog but am not ready to replace him yet so this is the next best thing
I live here with my husband, 2 cats and 1 year old who loves animals and is super good with them (see my gallery), im also comfortable with higher needs dogs as my dog lived with chronic allergies so medicated baths and tablets were a daily occurrence.
Feel free to flick through any questions.
Would be lovely to meet you and your dog

Hello there! :)I’m Manuela — vegan, 36, mature, clean, and someone who absolutely loves travelling, helping others, meeting new people, and spending as much time as possible with animals!I was born in Colombia, raised in Canada, and have spent the last seven years in Australia. I’ve just moved to New Zealand, and I’m happy to work between all of these places to continue my friendships, community, and family life while helping others get out of their homes and into travel mode.Living as an expat, travelling on working holiday visas, and embracing a very nomadic lifestyle means I haven’t had the chance to have a dog or cat of my own. Pet and house sitting gives me the opportunity to spend time with the animals I adore — the ones who bring so much comfort, companionship, and love, especially when settling into a new place. Caring for someone’s furry family member helps me feel grounded, connected, and at home wherever I am, and I truly cherish every moment I get to share with them. It’s also an honour to be trusted with your home and your pets, and I take that responsibility with so much care and gratitude. If I sound like someone who can help and take care of your furry ones please reach out, I'd love to help!
