Hi there! I am a PhD student in Hamilton, studying geoscience. Growing up, there were always pets in the family, mostly cats but also dogs (large and small breeds), birds (chickens, cockatiels, and budgies), fish, and guinea pigs at various times. I'm most experienced in dog care and cat care, but have plenty of experience with other animals.
I'm just staying in Hamilton for the duration of my studies and also sadly cannot keep pets in my apartment, so because I can't have a pet of my own right now I would love the opportunity to spend some time looking after the fuzzy or feathered companions of other people by being a pet sitter! I enjoy hanging out with animals of all shapes and sizes and it would be wonderful to meet and get to know your pets.
I would like to do dog walking, cat sitting, dog sitting, bird sitting, and care of small mammals. I am more than happy to look after reptiles, amphibians, or insects, but I have less experience with them, so I would perhaps need a little extra guidance with our more exotic friends. I can also do overnight stays to keep your pet company and make sure they have everything they might need, including cuddles, under-the-chin scritches, and pleasant (albeit one-sided) chit-chat. :)
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
I was a "Small Paws" volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society animal shelter in Colorado for over a year, which involved looking after small mammals such as rabbits, rats, mice, and guinea pigs. My main responsibilities were to socialise these animals (via handling and exercise/play) and monitor their behaviour, helping them get ready for adoption into their forever home.
